5:30 ba yan??!!!

Filed under: Races — levyang @ 7:49 am

The title of this post was inspired by some good-natured (at least I thought it was good-natured) ribbing I got from fellow bloggers who must have read my earlier post about doing a 5:30 pace at today’s New Balance Powerrace.  Just so you’d know, that display of bravado was before Philip and I, together with Johnny, surveyed the 25K route last night.  Would have wanted to recant my post last night, but what the heck, this morning I gave it the good ‘ol college try.  To cut a long story short, I finished with an unofficial time of 2:27:07 by my watch, 2:26:45 by the Garmin.   Yup, 5:52 min/km  pace. 🙂

So, c’mon guys, lemme have it, I deserve it.  Yabang kasi eh 🙂  Recap of my kids’ race and a more extensive recap of the 25K to follow 🙂

  1. Hey Levy, didn’t average much faster (52:42 for 10K). However, the conditions were better than last Sunday with less humidity and cloud cover. Congrats on the race nevertheless and thank you for the 10 days in the Philippines.

I’ll see you next year. BTW, Lakers will bounce back!

  7. Hey Levy, it was great meeting you on the road at NBClark. That was the first time I shook hands with someone while running, feels great. I’m running with Jay then near the expo. Good luck and see you again. BTW (whispering) I’m a laker too…

  9. Wayne,
You had to leave just when you’re getting the hang of racing in the Philippines 😦 Oh well, there’s always next year. Yup, Lakers will win it in 2009. I know it.

I’m touched that you still believe in me after I made a fool of myself with these stupid predictions, sniff, sniff. Thank you.

Congrats on your strong race Jay. It seemed like you were floating out there 🙂

Yeah, tamaan na ang dapat tamaan 🙂 Great seeing you and Drew out there. Reminded me that what running’s supposed to be about….fun and friendship 🙂

Nope, no garmin for me. Too expensive. But if they can make a waterproof timepiece, maybe I’ll reconsider 🙂

Thanks for the visit. Nice to meet you during the run as well 🙂 BTW, you don’t have to whisper about being a Laker fan. Let’s shout it out to the whole world!!

Thank you very much for the visit. Hope we can chat some more in future races 🙂
